Having ESL students read in class is important to help them build their English vocabulary. This reading passage helps them build their science vocabulary. It reviews the process of photosynthesis and cellular respiration focusing on energy conversion from radiant energy of the sun to chemical energy of ATP. Students read the passage and place vocabulary terms in the correct boxes. Images are used to help ESL students identify the correct terms. There are two versions. One is simplified for beginning learners or lower level SPED. Both versions are also available in digital format. The digital format includes a word bank. A key is included.
